Ouch, this Fender Jim Root Jazzmaster had an unfortunate previous encounter with someone who had tried to upgrade the nut, and somehow had an entire piece of the fretboard removed! We carefully spliced in a matching piece of ebony and then precisely cut the new nut slot and gave it the gleaming bone nut the owner wanted in the first place! Click for more shots

Oops, someone had installed this Bigsby kit and it seemed like nothing went well. Everything was crooked, it wouldn’t stay in tune and two screws had snapped off inside the guitar! Everything was removed, dowelled with proper hardwoods, the topes matched and then cut once again for the Bigsby install. This time, with everything straight ;) the bridge was stablised, a Callaham roller installed and the wiring was sorted out to proper Esquire configuration. Click for a few more pictures…

Here we have a rare original 1964 Fender Esquire that underwent a full restoration! There a lot of photos of this one, so click through if you want to see it from when it arrived in its awful orange-y red finish with a humbucker to its transformation into the gem you see above. Special thanks to Scott from SC Relics for sorting out the finish on the body and getting it spot on to lightly aged 1960’s blonde.
