Welcome to the new year, with new repairs and new stories to be told!

Happy new year to you and please let me take this opportunity to thank you for supporting the Stairway throughout what has been a very challenging 2020 for us all! It is so very much appreciated by myself and the crew and of course I’ll continue to strive to bring you the highest quality work out there :)

I am currently still allowed to be operating but with London under Lockdown restrictions and the new strain affecting many people I’ve been forced to adjust my procedures slightly again. I have responsibilities to fulfil to those working here, their families, as well as to you and yours and this will somewhat restrict how I can do my work. For the time being, the workshop will have to be no-contact collections and drop-offs only. When arriving for the appointed time, you’ll be able to leave your instrument outside my doorway in the hall and I’ll bring it inside after the area is clear. I’m afraid there will be no entry granted into my workshop at this time and instruments will be placed in quarantine for a short period (maximum one week). That may seem like a long time, but there are no methods I’m aware of that will remove the virus without harming the instrument! Once out of quarantine I can begin the work as requested in the booking form. Further contact can be made via telephone or email (preferably by email) and I’ll be running slightly reduced office hours as well to help with the cleaning and sterilisation of tools and surfaces. Appointments for drop offs and collections can be made for Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays. I’ll still be working every day of the week to get your instruments ready to roll so should be contact-able. Kindly please note that I usually deal with a high number of calls and emails (even more now!) so in the event that I’m not reachable right away I will certainly get back to you as soon as I possibly can.

I do realise this will be an inconvenience for some and I’m truly sorry that I need to do this, but safety for everyone is my concern. I thank you for your understanding and co-operation in these unusual times. Let us hope that working this way will not last much longer and I can welcome you back into the Stairway To Kevin as I much prefer to work with people directly!
